Sample Dovetail Drawer Box
This sample drawer box comes in 5/8″ thick solid wood maple sides with a 1/4″ maple veneer bottom. Dovetail Joinery is included on all four corners, and sanded smooth. Bottom is secured within grooves cut into all four sides, diagonal staples visible only from bottom. This sample is finished with a clear satin sheen finish.
Our actual dovetail drawer boxes can be made in most wood species, though soft maple is standard. Maple is a preferred wood choice for drawer boxes because its bright color reflects light within the drawer, naturally providing some illumination to see within. Maple is very rigid and holds up well to strikes and blunt force.
