Cabinet Door Frame Options

The cabinet door stiles and rails plays a major role in both the look and proportion of your doors. Stile and rail cabinet doors are built with the top and bottom frame parts called rails and the left and right frame parts called stiles. Our custom cabinet door frame width is 2-3/8 inches but every door we build can be customized to fit your design goals. Whether you want a subtle change in proportions or a bold architectural detail we can adjust the frame to match your vision. Adjustable Stile and Rail Widths

You can increase or decrease the width of the stiles and rails on any door style. This allows you to fine tune the overall look of your doors . We can also adjust individual stiles and rails rather than the entire frame.

A common example is a taller bottom rail on wainscot cabinet panels that extends to the floor. This creates a clean visual line with the doors and drawer fronts in the rest of the kitchen while giving the panel a more furniture‑style appearance.

Adding Center Stiles and Rails

For doors that need extra structure or a unique design element, we can add center stiles and center rails. These can be placed exactly where you want them, and you can include more than one in the same door.

This is especially useful for extra wide wainscot panels, tall pantry doors, or any design where you want additional stiles and rails for a more detailed layout. Center stiles and rails help break up large openings and create custom patterns. We do recommend for doors over 48″ tall to include at least one center rail to make the door more stable to avoid possible warping in taller doors.

Below is a great example of wainscot cabinet panels we can do. This panel includes two center stiles with a wider bottom rail.
