Terms, Warranty, and Privacy Policy

Measurements and Accuracy of Dimensions

Customer Responsibility

You must provide exact overall dimensions for each item ordered. Do not submit opening sizes. Scherr’s manufactures to the exact dimensions you provide and will not adjust sizes after the order is placed. By placing an order, you acknowledge responsibility for providing accurate measurements.

Required Dimension Format

  • Doors: Width then Height
  • Drawer Fronts: Width then Height
  • Drawer Boxes: Width then Depth then Height
  • Cabinet Boxes: Width then Height then Depth

IKEA Sizing Assistance

Scherr’s will assist with calculating door and drawer front sizes for IKEA cabinetry. If any sizes ordered are not standard IKEA sizes you are responsible for the sizes of these specific items on your order.

Manufacturing Tolerances

  • Doors and drawer fronts: ±1/32 inch
  • Solid wood slab doors: subject to natural expansion and contraction; no warranty on width
  • Dovetail drawer boxes: ±1/16 inch

Order Submission, Changes, and Cancellations

Order Submission

Orders should be placed over the phone, email, or our fax number. Specific items can also be ordered directly through our website.

Confirmation

You will receive an order confirmation by email. You must verify all quantities, sizes, specifications, hardware, and shipping information. Production can possibly begin within 24 hours of your confirmation.

Changes and Cancellations

  • Cancel and change requests must be made within 24 hours of acknowledgment to avoid charges if production has begun.
  • After 24 hours changes may require extra charges depending on where the order is at in production. If changes are accepted this can affect the lead time for the shipment.
  • After 24 hours cancellation requests might still be able to occur depending on where the order is at, at the time of the cancellation request.  Any cancelled orders after 24 hours will include extra credit card fees and other possible charges.
  • Rush orders cannot be changed or canceled.

Canceling After Shipment

Orders cannot be cancelled after the order has shipped out.  If you would like to return hardware on an order.  You might be able to do this for a refund.  Feel free to contact us about hardware returns and we will see if we are able to do a return on this. Hardware refunds are issued after inspection. Shipping costs are non‑refundable.

Pricing, Payment, and Taxes

Pricing

Prices are listed in US Dollars and may change without notice. If an item is incorrectly priced, you will be contacted to approve the corrected price or you can cancel this item without being charged for it.

Payment

  • Full payment is due before shipment.
  • Accepted cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover
  • Billing address must match the credit card issuer’s records.
  • Cashier’s, personal, or business checks can also be used to place an order.  We will not get orders into production or shipped out until we receive the required check amount and the payment went through on our end.
  • Orders over $500 a 50% deposit is due to confirm the order. The remaining balance is due before shipment.

  • Orders under $500 will be charged in full before shipment. Scherr’s will not ship an order until full payment is received.

Taxes

  • North Dakota residents must pay applicable state and local taxes.
  • Taxes may be required depending on the state we are shipping to. We will include any taxes when invoicing an order.  If tax is not included you may be responsible to pay for the taxes depending on the state the order is shipping to.  

Production Lead Times and Rush Orders

Standard Lead Times

Orders are made after placing an order we do not carry any in stock items other than some hardware options.  Lead times are different depending on if you are ordering doors, drawer boxes, cabinets, and any finishing to the product.  We will provide the current lead time for the product you are looking to order when you request a quote.  You can also contact us for current lead times. Below are standard lead times but this can change depending on how busy we are when you place an order.  

  • Unfinished door orders two to four weeks.
  • Clear finished or painted door orders one to three months.
  • Drawer box orders two to four weeks.
  • Cabinet orders two to six months.

Delays Beyond Our Control

Scherr’s is not responsible for delays caused by accidents, strikes, material shortages, natural disasters, power outages, or carrier delays. We understand the importance shipping out on time.  However, sometimes delays can occur and if the delay is going to be awhile we will reach out to you and let you know.

Rush Orders

Rush service shortens lead time for an additional fee. Rush orders cannot be cancelled or adjusted once the order is placed. Contact us to see if we are currently accepting rush orders, what the rush order lead time currently is, and what upcharges are involved when doing a rush order.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping Methods

  • Continental US: FedEx ground, USPS, and several Freight Services
  • Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands: USPS
  • International: Please contact us for information when it comes to shipping this order out to your location.
  • Customers are responsible for duties and taxes on international shipments

Shipping Details

Most orders ship from our shop in Minot, North Dakota. If you will be picking this order up at our shop you can pick this order up 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Do not arrive until you receive a pickup confirmation.

Shipping Damage, Shortages, and Errors

Inspection Requirements
Inspect all packages when you receive them.  If you scheduled a drop off time with the delivery company make sure to inspect the packing material before the delivery driver leaves.  If you need to sign a delivery receipt and if there is any visible damage to the packing material make sure to list this on the delivery receipt before signing it.  Make sure to take pictures of any damage on the packaging before opening it up.  
Packaging Retention
You must retain:
• Damaged product
• Original box
• All packaging materials
Failure to do so may void the carrier claim.
Reporting Timeframes
You must let us know of any shipping damage within a week after receiving the shipment.
Scherr’s Errors
If Scherr’s made an error, replacement items will be expedited and treated as a rush remake.
Address Accuracy
You are responsible for charges related to incorrect shipping or contact information that was provided to us.

Storage and Handling

  • If you will be storing the product make sure to cover the product up with blankets
  • Store products in a controlled environment between 30–40% humidity
  • Avoid extreme heat, cold, dryness, humidity, or sunlight
  • Do not store in damp or freshly plastered areas
  • Keep the product away from sunlight when storing it

Warranties

General Warranty

Standard products are warranted for one year against defects in material and workmanship.

Natural Wood Variation

Color, grain, texture, mineral streaks, pin knots, and other natural characteristics are not defects.

Warping Tolerances

  • Raised panel doors up to 22″ x 48″ of more than 1/8″
  • Raised panel doors 48″ x 72″ of more than 1/4″
  • Frame and plywood insert doors up to 22″ x 48″ of more than 1/4″
  • Frame and plywood insert doors 48″ x 72″ of more than 3/8″
  • Solid wood slab doors up to 22″ x 60″ of more than 1/4″
  • Oversized doors beyond these dimensions are not warranted for warping

Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse, abuse, negligence
  • Improper storage and handling.
  • Cracks at joints due to natural wood movement
  • Finishing costs for replacement products we did not finish
  • Issues due to finishing done to the product that we did not finish in our shop
  • Deviations from standard construction specifications
